D’Angelo Is No Minute Man: Performs “Untitled (How Does It Feel)” For 14 Minutes!

Good Lordt! We’ve been graced with the mercy of the Almighty this morning. D’Angelo performed at the Apollo over the weekend and sang and we mean sang a 14 minute version of his classic, “Untitled (How Does It Feel)” and when we could stop squealing, we enjoyed one of D’Angelo’s sexiest musical offerings. Well, one of the sexiest musical offerings there’s ever been. *clutches pearls* Check out the beautiful performance in the video above. You won’t regret it.

Who can help Keith Sweat get away from the Feds? Nobody! The one-word lyric from a classic Keith Sweat tune couldn’t be anymore fitting right now. It’s being reported that the R&B crooner owes over $258K in back taxes. The IRS has filed documents in Georgia last month, stating that Keith failed to pay them taxes in 2012. Woops!

Sweat owes a whopping $258,676.82 and he’s got to pay up or sing his heart out behind bars. The Feds don’t play! Well, they’re not throwing him behind bars, but they will freeze his assets to collect their debt. Sweat is reported set to release a new album, The Project, Harlem Romance: The Love Collection which will feature his biggest hits from the 80s and 90s. Let’s hope this album helps Sweat make enough money to keep the Feds off his back.

During one of the segments on Steve Harvey’s show, “Ask Steve,” the talk show host and comedian make a slavery joke and we’re not sure how we feel about it. A White woman from Greensboro, NC asked Steve how she can avoid talking about history with her friends because she doesn’t know anything about history–you know a problem that most of us have (side eye)–and Steve told her to say:

“I don’t really care for slavery,” he laughs and continues, “It works every damn time. That’s what I do when I’m sitting around a bunch of socialites and they’re talking about the past, I just say it and walk off. I have my little drink in my hand, I just say it and walk off. I don’t give a damn if they’re talking abut Christopher Columbus, a treaty, an amendment, a bill. I don’t care what the subject is–it could be prohibition. I don’t care what the subject is. When you get through saying it and I don’t know what the hell you’re talking about, my favorite line is, ‘I don’t give a damn about slavery’ and walk off.”

We blame public schools. Maybe if they taught us about our history, we could have something to offer in conversations. There’s nothing funny about slavery and for Steve to suggest to a White woman to tell people she doesn’t care about slavery is like asking her to strap on a steak dress and walk into the woods alone. What and why Steve Harvey, why?

Beyonce took the Grammy stage last night to sing “Precious Lord, Take My Hand” which segued into John Legend and Common’s “Glory–” the outstanding Oscar-nominated song from the movie Selma. The song was originally sang by fellow songstress Ledisi, who played Mahalia Jackson in the movie. Many people feel Ledisi was snubbed for the performance by the all-powerful Queen Bey and apparently, Beyonce made the call to shade Ledisi.

John Legend revealed to ET [corespondent Kevin Fraiser] that Beyonce approached them about singing “Precious Lord, Take My Hand.”

“You don’t say no to Beyonce,” he told Kevin.

Welp. We’re just gonna leave that right there. *whistles* The BeyHive is vicious and we like our lives!
