Beyoncé is stepping up to help people who have been impacted by the L.A. wildfires. The Cowboy Carter singer announced that she will donate $2.5M via her BeyGOOD Foundation to assist individuals displaced by the Eaton Fire.

The Foundation made the announcement on its social media platforms. The post read:

“Los Angeles we stand with you. 🫶🏽

BeyGOOD is taking action by announcing the LA Fire Relief Fund with a donation of 2.5 million dollars.

The fund is earmarked to aid families in the Altadena/Pasadena area who lost their homes, and to churches and community centers to address the immediate needs of those affected by the wildfires.

The funds are specifically for the Altadena/Pasadena area which is the area where over 400 families have lost their homes. Altadena is a historically African American enclave where generations of families have brought houses in proximity to each other or have passed them down to relatives. There is a spreadsheet of families who need assistance that has been compiled into a Google Doc for those who want to help.

Beyoncé and BeyGOOD are among several organizations that are helping displaced families in the wake of the fires. Live Nation is hosting a FireAid benefit at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood on Jan. 30. Disney is donating $15M to displaced families while Fox, Paramount, Warner Music, CAA, Jamie Lee Curtis and others have pledged funds to help those affected.

Among the many people who have lost homes in the fires are Jhené Aiko, Tina Knowles, Bozoma St. John, British comedian Gina Yashere, the creator of Bob Hearts Abishola, along with Paris Hilton, Melissa Rivers, Ricki Lake, and This is Us stars Milo Ventimiglia and Mandy Moore.

Actor Deon Cole, who recently celebrated his 53th birthday in the hospital, went home and then had to evacuate amid a raging fire near his home. He posted as he was driving out through embers and sparks.
